Meet the Committee Members
Vicki Findlater
Chair/Welfare Officer
Co 10k Race Director 2023/2024
I joined the Solos in May 2018 starting their first Couch to 5k (C25k) plan. Graduation was the Montrose parkrun, which I completed in 36:41. Fast forward to 2023 and I reduced my time to 27:15.
In 2022, I ran 56 10k distances over the year and completed the Tay Ten race (my furthest distance) in 2023.
In 2023 and 2024 I was the Co Race Director for our 10k races, which have been a great success. In 2024 I stepped up as Chair, taking over from Si and continue to run regularly, fitting in runs around my work and two daughters.
All of this was only achieved through the support and encouragement from the St Cyrus Solo's.
Carina Ray
Club Secretary/
Membership Co-ordinator
I joined Solos in October 2019 after being encouraged by my neighbour, Kenny. It took a bit of persuading as I thought I would hold everyone up but very quickly learned the motto of "no one is left behind" is a core part of the club.
With weekly homework's being set by the run leads during lockdown, I wanted to try completing a marathon. It ended up being a virtual effort from Montrose to Johnshaven with Kenny and some other solos providing lots of support and encouragement either on the run or as a roving cheer squad.
And even better - the social events are just as much fun as the running.
Andrea Watt
Social Media Secretary
Andrea joined the Solos in June 2022 after enjoying the 10km race so much…she wanted to be part of a friendly, welcoming and encouraging club.
Andrea credits the Solos with an improvement in her running times and even winning some age category trophies! She enjoys taking part in races, representing the club and building up the medal collection!
Andrea lives in Inverbervie, is a charity fundraiser and a Board Member at Aberdeen Arts Centre. She has loved meeting lots of new friends, the fun social events and the huge camaraderie Solos brings.
Garth Archer
Committee Member/Run Lead Liaison
Gareth joined solos around 2021 and really enjoys the variety of training sessions and the friendly community that is at the core of the Solos ethos.
Gareth took on being a Run Lead in 2023 and enjoys the challenge and always look forward to seeing other Solos at various events around the country.
Adrian Patterson
Club Treasurer
Wanting to get out of my comfort zone and introduce more variety into my runs I decided to join a running club, so, after meeting a number of friendly Solo's club members at parkrun, I finally took the plunge and joined the club in 2023 and quickly found that everyone is welcome, however slow. #welovehills
Mark Coburn
Merchandise Co-ordinator
I started running in 2020 for weight loss. I quickly became addicted, competing with myself to increase my pace. I joined Solos in April 2023 and quickly got the confidence, through the varied training sessions and support and encouragement from fellow members, to increase my distance.
I have
now completed multiple half marathons with the aim for 2025 of competing in
full marathons
